Cup Of Tea For Mr Lowry

Not many people know that the famous Lowry painting of North Street was actually begun on West Street. One day Len Hartley emerged from his father's butcher's shop on West Street and there was Mr Lowry sat there making a sketch. Hear Len's story below.

Len was to polite to say, but what actually happened was his father told Lowry to clear off as he was obstructing customers entering the shop. But for Len's dad  we would not have the painting we have today.
